The Denholme Doddle – July 25th 2020

There is still uncertainty around our annual marathon event taking place in July.

We are still accepting entries with the option to pay later should we go ahead as hoped.

Please see our website: for more updates.

Due to the pandemic, we have had to close our shop under government guidelines.

Appropriate measures are being taken into consideration to enable us to reopen safely on July 7th 2020.

We will also have a system in place to safely accept donations again at this point.

This time has given us the opportunity for our volunteers to recuperate and some much needed reorganising of the charity.

The closure has inevitably caused a rapid depletion of our funds which we hope to regain quickly and get back on track.

The prizes for the raffle that took place at our Christmas fair last year have not yet been given out.

These were lost amongst stock in the midst of clearing our old premises.

Winners will be able to collect from Black Dyke mill once we reopen.

We’d like to apologise to all who participated and thank you all for your patience.

A new book by our founder June Martin has just been published and is available to buy from the shop and from Denholme Post Office. All profits will go to the Orphanage Rebuilding Fund.

The price is £12 (RRP £21.99).

If you are interested in philosophical and spiritual matters, please come along and support our work by buying a copy of June's inspirational book.

Our concert at Black Dyke Mills was well attended and the talents of our performers - Knock on Wood and United Harmonies - were enjoyed by all. The evening attracted a new sponsor for Mpika and raised £400 towards our activities at the orphanage.

A huge thank you to all who worked so hard to make this event a success.
